We recently attended the Rural Doctors Association of Queensland (RDAQ) 30th Annual Conference in Cairns on 6-8 June, where NIISQ Agency representatives were available at our trade booth to answer your questions about NIISQ.
The NIISQ Agency and its Board members share an ongoing commitment to effective partnerships and engagement throughout all of Queensland. Demonstrating this commitment, our Board members attended the RDAQ conference on 7 June. They enjoyed meeting with doctors, service providers and remote based health professionals during their visit.
This was part of a broader program where our Board met with some of our key partners in the Cairns region to strengthen our connections and ensure NIISQ participants have access to high-quality treatment, care and support regardless of where they may live.
We are grateful to Aunty Ruth Miller, a well respected Jirrbal Girramay Aboriginal woman, for providing a valuable regional perspective on connecting with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
We also wish to thank representatives from Cairns Hospital, Cootharinga, Spinal Life Australia and the James Cook University Rehabilitation and Disability Research team for taking the time to meet with our Board in Cairns.
